New for-all-ages manga series ‘Yuki ha Tomoe ni’ starts on web Action

My new manga for-all-ages, ‘Yuki ha Tomoe ni’, starts of web Action, web comic site of Futabasya, the original Japanese publisher of ‘My Brother’s Husband’, ‘Our Colors’, and ‘Fish and Water’.

The story begins in Tokyo in 1921 and follows two men living through the turbulent early 20th century.

The title “Yuki ha Tomoe ni” is taken from an old traditional Japanese song, a love song usually sung by geisha. The song begins as “The snow swirls and falls, the folding screen is a mediator between lovers…”, so we may be able to translate the title into English as ‘Snow Swirls’ or ‘Swirling Snowflakes’. ‘Tomoe’ is a traditional Japanese symbol consisting of a swirling comma-like shape and there are many different types, but in this song it is a metaphor for the love between the two people, so ‘Futatsu Tomoe (twofold tomoe)’ like below seems appropriate. That’s a romantic 69!
